GOD'S PLAN FOR YOU IS PEACE FOR YOUR FUTURE

 MORNING PRAYER TIME:

"For I know the PURPOSES which I am purposing for YOU, says the LORD; purposes of PEACE and not of evil, to GIVE you a FUTURE and a HOPE." (Jer 29:11)

God knows everything about us and more. His plans for us are always for peace and out of love – never for our destruction. God has always been concerned about saving His children, and save His children He indeed. Even though, we have been so prodigal in our ways and attitude, our loving Father will always lookout for ways to bring us back to him.

"And I will be found by you, says the LORD; and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD. And I will bring you again into the place from where I caused you to be exiled." (Jer 29:14)

God is always looking out for our peace. He has PURPOSED for our FUTURE for a HOPE to be PEACEABLE. For this, He made a commitment, by sending his Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to brokage peace with us.

It now depends on us to accept his purpose or plan for our future or reject it.

LET'S PRAY:

Dear God, I thank you that Your plans for my life are always to prosper me and for the sake of peace. Thank You, Father, for Your endless love that has saved me. Were it not for Your love, Lord, I do not know where I would be. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

May you have a wonderful encounter with God today, as you attend worship service today, in Jesus name.

THE WAY TO PERSONAL DELIVERANCE – PART ONE

HOW CAN I OBTAIN DELIVERANCE?

The Bible says in Obadiah 1:17 "But upon Mount Zion shall be [deliverance], and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possession."

Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.” (KJ’1769 Exo 6:6-8)

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (KJ’1769 Gal 3:13-14)

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” (KJ’1769 Col 1:13)

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” (KJ’1769 Col 2:14-15)

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident." (KJ'1769 Ps 27:1-3)

LIMITATIONS OF SELF!

“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing.”

If a young believer learns this lesson early in his Christian life, he will save himself from a world of trouble later on. The Bible teaches that there is NO GOOD THING in our old, evil un-regenerate nature. The flesh is absolutely no good. It is not improved one iota at the time of conversion. It is not improved by a lifetime of consistent Christian living. In fact, God is not trying to improve it. He has condemned it to death at the Cross and wants us to keep it in the place of death.

If I really believe this, it will deliver me from a futile search. I will not look for anything good where God has already said it can’t be found.

It will deliver me from disappointment. I am never disappointed when I don’t find any good in myself. I knew it wasn’t there in the first place.

It will deliver me from introspection. I start with the premise that there is no victory in self. In fact, self-occupation spells defeat.

It will guard me from psychological and psychiatric counseling which turns the searchlight on self. Such therapy only compounds the problem instead of solving it.

It teaches me to be occupied with the Lord Jesus. Robert Murray McCheyne said, “For every look you take at self, take ten looks at Christ.” That is a good balance! Someone else said that even a sanctified self is a poor substitute for a glorified Christ. And the hymnwriter wrote, “How sweet away from self to flee, and shelter in our Savior.”

Much modern preaching and many new Christian books send people on an introspective binge, occupying them with their temperament, their self-image, their hang-ups and inhibitions. The whole movement is a tragedy of overbalance and it leaves a trail of human wreckage.

“I am too bad to be worth thinking about; what I want is to forget myself and to look to God, who is indeed worthy of all my thoughts.”

"Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. … But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" (KJV1769D Rom 7:17-21,23-24)

It is time to put aside your limitations that stand as barriers to your upliftments and attaining what Christ has planned for you on earth.

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (KJV1769D Heb 12:1-2)

 PRAYERS:

1). Pray for forgiveness from self and for allowing self to take dominion.

2). Pray against the spirit of self and worldliness in operation in your life and ask Jesus to be the centre of your life.

3). Oh Lord, sanctify me wholly for your use throughout each day of this year, in Jesus Christ mighty name.

4). O Lord Jesus, let your fire locate my foundation and anything that would not glorify your name in my life be roasted and be consumed, in Jesus name!

5).

Make Righteous Judgment This Year!

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (Joh 7:24)

One of the most deep-seated frailties of fallen humanity is the persistent tendency to judge according to appearance. We judge a person according to his looks. We judge a used car by its body. We judge a book by its cover. No matter how often we are disappointed and disillusioned, we stubbornly refuse to learn that “all is not gold that glitters.”

In his book Hide or Seek, Dr. James Dobson says that physical beauty is the most highly valued personal attribute in our culture. We have made it what he calls “the gold coin of human worth.” Thus a beautiful child is more favored by adults than a plain one. Teachers tend to give better grades to attractive children. Pretty children get less discipline than others. Homely children are more subject to blame for misdemeanors.

Samuel would have chosen the tall, good-looking Eliab to be king (1Sa 16:7), but the Lord corrected him,

“Look not on his countenance or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” (1Sam 16:7)

The greatest case of misjudgment in history occurred when the Lord Jesus visited our planet. Apparently He was not prepossessing as far as physical appearance was concerned. He had no form or comeliness, and when men saw Him, no beauty that they should desire Him (Isa 53:2). They could see no beauty in the only truly beautiful Person who ever lived! Yet He Himself never fell into this terrible trap of judging according to looks, for before His advent, it was prophesied of Him,

“He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears” (Isa 11:3).

To Him it was not the face but the character that counted. Not the cover but the contents. Not the physical but the spiritual.

"You shall not respect persons in judgment. You shall hear the small as well as the great. You shall not be afraid of the face of man, for the judgment [is] God's. And the cause that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it." (MKJV Deu 1:17)

 Prayers: Personalised Declaration

1)  Father Lord, forgive me in area I have judged wrongly. I have allowed human perspective to rule my judgments. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse me from any form of cloudy physical interference that hinders my spiritual judgments, in Jesus me.

2). Oh Lord, throughout this year, I ask for your leadings, directions, instructions, counselings, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to take righteous decision in the fear of You, in the Jesus mighty name!

3) Father Lord, let me see things only in your own perspective, throughout this great year in Jesus Christ mighty name.

4). I receive the spirit of discernments to rightful decisions throughout this and every other year, in Jesus Christ mighty name! Amen!!

In Humility, Let Us Exalt One Another In the Lord

“In lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves.” (Php 2:3b)

"For all seek their own, not the things which are of Jesus Christ." (MKJV Phil 2:21)

To esteem others better than self is unnatural; fallen human nature rebels at such a blow to its ego. It is humanly impossible; we do not have the power in ourselves to live such an otherworldly life. But it is divinely feasible; the indwelling Holy Spirit empowers us to efface self in order that others might be honored.

Gideon illustrates our text. After his three hundred men had defeated the Midianites, he called for the men of Ephraim to add the final blow. They cut off the escape route and captured two Midianite princes. But they complained that they had not been called earlier. Gideon replied that the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim was better than the vintage of Abiezer (Jdg 8:2), that is, the mopping-up operation conducted by the men of Ephraim was more illustrious than the whole campaign waged by Gideon. This spirit of selflessness appeased the Ephraimites.

Joab showed great unselfishness when he captured Rabbah and then called for David to come and administer the coup de grace (2Sa 12:26-28). Joab was quite content that David should get credit for the victory. It was one of the nobler moments in Joab’s life.

The Apostle Paul esteemed the Philippians better than himself. He said that what they were doing was the significant sacrifice to God, whereas he was nothing more than a drink offering, poured out over the sacrifice and service of their faith (Php 2:17).

In more recent times, a beloved servant of Christ was waiting in an anteroom with other distinguished preachers, ready to file out onto the platform. When he finally appeared at the door and a thunderous ovation took place, he quickly stepped aside so that those who were following him would receive the applause.

The supreme example of self-abnegation is the Lord Jesus. He humbled Himself that we might be exalted. He became poor that we might become rich. He died that we might live.

"For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought [it] not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, and took [upon Himself] the form of a servant, and was made in [the] likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself [and] became obedient unto death, even [the] death of the cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name [which is] above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of heavenly ones, and of earthly ones, and of ones under [the] earth; and [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to [the] glory of God [the] Father." (MKJV Phil 2:5-11)

This we walk graciously into another year, let us esteem one another better than ourselves. Let do less of complaints, more of sacrificial works in humility. Helping one another in love in obedience to Christ command.

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. … You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. … These things I command you, that you love one another." (MKJV John 15:12,14,17)

It is my prayer that, the Spirit of humility will possess us to exalt and to honor one another in the sacrificial love of God in Christ Jesus.

I pray this morning, that every evil cloud, that have been orchestrated from the pit of hell to block your rising and shinning in the glory of God this year shall be cleared away

Have a prosperous and productive day, in Jesus Christ mighty name!

NEW YEAR RESOLUTION AND PRAYER REQUEST!

“This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.” (Exo 12:2)

New Year’s resolutions are good but fragile, that is, easily broken. New Year’s prayers are better; they ascend to the throne of God and set answering wheels in motion. As we come to the beginning of another year, we would do well to make the following prayer requests our own:

Lord Jesus, I rededicate myself afresh to You today. I want you to take my life this coming year and use it for Your glory. “Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.”

I pray that You will keep me from sin, from anything that will bring dishonor to Your Name.

Keep me teachable by the Holy Spirit. I want to move forward for You. Don’t let me settle in a rut.

May my motto this year be, “He must increase; I must decrease.” The glory must all be Yours. Help me not to touch it.

Teach me to make every decision a matter of prayer. I dread the thought of leaning on my own understanding.

“I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps,” Jer 10:23.

May I die to the world and even to the approval or blame of loved ones or friends. Give me a single, pure desire to do the things that please Your heart.

Keep me from gossip and criticism of others. Rather help me to speak what is edifying and profitable.

Lead me to needy souls. May I become a friend of sinners, as You are. Give me tears of compassion for the perishing. “Let me look on the crowd as my Savior did, till my eyes with tears grow dim. Let me view with pity the wandering sheep, and love them for love of Him.”

Lord Jesus, keep me from becoming cold, bitter or cynical in spite of anything that may happen to me in the Christian life.

Guide me in my stewardship of money. Help me to be a good steward of everything you have entrusted to me.

Help me to remember moment by moment that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. May this tremendous truth influence all my behavior.

And, Lord Jesus, I pray that this may be the year of Your return. I long to see Your face and to fall at Your feet in worship. During the coming year, may the blessed hope stay fresh in my heart, disengaging me from anything that would hold me here and keeping me on the tiptoes of expectancy. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

Wishing you a blessed New Year!

THE MYSTERY OF TITHING UNVEILED

"... Then Abraham took a tenth of all he had won in the battle and gave it to Melchizedek. Melchizedek's name means "Justice," so he is the King of Justice; and he is also the King of Peace because of the name of his city, Salem, which means "Peace." … See then how great this Melchizedek is: (a) Even Abraham, the first and most honored of all God's chosen people, gave Melchizedek a tenth of the spoils he took from the kings he had been fighting. One could understand why Abraham would do this if Melchizedek had been a Jewish priest, for later on God's people were required by law to give gifts to help their priests because the priests were their relatives." Is not A Pastors Decision.

Is not A Religious Doctrine.

Is not A Religious Fulfilment.

Is not A Pastors Prescriptions.

"As for the tribe of Levi, your relatives, they shall be paid for their service with the tithes from the entire land of Israel. "From now on, Israelites other than the priests and Levites shall not enter the sanctuary lest they be judged guilty and die. Only the Levites shall do the work there, and they shall be guilty if they fail. THIS IS A PERMANENT LAW AMONG YOU, that the Levites shall own no property in Israel, for the people's tithes, offered to the Lord by the gesture of waving before the altar, shall belong to the Levites; these are their inheritance, and so they have no need for property."" (TLB Num 18:21-24)

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts." (KJ'1769 Mal 3:10-12)

MYSTERY OF THE EVENING AND THE MORNING SEASON

"And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. AND THE EVENING AND THE MORNING were the first day… And God called the firmament Heaven. And THE EVENING AND THE MORNING were the second day… And THE EVENING AND THE MORNING were the third day. … And THE EVENING AND THE MORNING were the fourth day. … And THE EVENING AND THE MORNING were the fifth day. … And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And THE EVENING AND THE MORNING were the sixth day." (KJ'1769 Gen 1:5,8,13,19,23,31)

In the Bible days, the day starts from evening to morning, not morning to evening. You looking at the characters of successful people on earth, their day starts from evening to morning. They make their plans at these period, only implement them in the day time, that is, morning to evening.

We see in the Scriptures, Jesus plans in the evening and handover his plans to God in players. He committed his plans and ways into the hands of God.

"Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." (KJ'1769 Prov 16:3)

SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE STARTS PRODUCTIVITY AT NIGHTS, IMPLEMENTATION ONLY BEGINS IN THE DAY TIME.

SUCCESS BELONGS TO THOSE WHO WAKE UP EVERY MORNING AND PURSUE THEIR DREAM'S REGARDLESS OF THE HARDSHIP.

SUCCESS IS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE MADE UP THEIR MIND NOT TO GIVE UP, NOT TO GIVE IN AND NOT TO THROW IN THE TOWEL.

IT'S FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SAID "IT IS NOT GOING TO BE OVER UNTIL I WIN",

SUCCESS IS FOR THOSE WHO DON'T SUFFER FROM "WHAT WILL PEOPLE SAY SYNDROME".

SUCCESS IS FOR YOU, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE ABILITY AND THE POTENTIAL THAT HAS BEEN INVESTED IN YOU. YOU'VE GOT GREATNESS WITHIN YOU AND YOU DESERVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

"Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday." (KJ'1769 Ps 37:3-6)

Jesus, Our Healer! - Series One

God had one Son without sin, but He never had sons without trials. It is not known what quality grapes yield until they come to the wine press. When we are squeezed what comes out indicates what's on the inside! When you came to "Marah" this week, what came out? Grumbling like Israel or crying out like Moses?

For now, if you want to see Jesus you need the eyes of faith. And if you haven’t met him yet, I want you to meet him this morning. He’s here, speaking through these words, calling you to believe. Do you see him with the eyes of faith? Believe him.

We can also access His healing power through prayer. I’ll never forget an experience that Sister Nelson and I had about three decades ago with President Spencer W. Kimball and his beloved Camilla. We were in Hamilton, New Zealand, for a large conference with the Saints. I was not a General Authority at that time. I had been invited to participate in this and similar meetings in other Pacific Islands while serving as general president of the Sunday School. And as a doctor of medicine, I had attended President and Sister Kimball for many years. I knew each of them very well—inside and out.

Now, dear friends, in answer to prayer God has often healed your bitter waters and made them sweet. I am about to appeal to your personal experience, you that are truly pilgrims under the guidance of your heavenly Lord. Has it not been so with you? I should have no difficulty in refreshing your memories about Marah, for very likely its bitterness is in your mouth even now, and you cannot forget your sorrow. But just now I wish to refresh your memories about what came of that sorrow. Did not God deliver you? Did he not, when you cried to him, come to your rescue? I appeal to facts, which may be stubborn things, but they are also rich encouragements.

"Then he touched their eyes and said, 'According to your faith let it be done to you.' And their eyes were opened."The Good News: In the inspiring words of “Amazing Grace,” “I once was blind but now I see!”

Isaiah 57:18 "I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and to his mourners, 19 Creating the praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near," Says the LORD, "and I will heal him."

Warren Wiersbe adds "Life is not always battles and bitter waters. God brings us to the refreshing oases from time to time, and for this we should praise Him. However, we can never claim our inheritance if we linger at Elim. We are pilgrims, not residents. Life is a combination of the bitter and the sweet, triumphs and trials. If we are following God, however, we never need fear what comes our way. And after the trial there is often a spiritual “Elim” where God refreshes us. We must accept the bitter waters with the sweet, knowing that God knows what is best for us."

WHO IS JESUS CHRIST -Part One

Jesus' life becomes ours. It's in the Bible, Galatians 2:20, NKJV. "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

He said to , "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."

Luke (2.1-2) also links the birth of Jesus with a census for taxation purposes ordered by the Roman Emperor Augustus and driven by Quirnius, the Syrian governor. Such an enrollment took place in 6 CE, when Judea was made the property of Augustus and the taxation system had to be restructured. The problem with this reference is that this enrollment did not affect the population of Galilee, where Joseph and Mary lived. Furthermore, if Jesus had been born around 6 CE, it would be inconsistent with Matthew placing Jesus' birth during the time of Herod the Great.

Who was Jesus Christ?

He also descended into hell, and truly rose again on the third day. Afterward, He ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. There He forever reigns and has dominion over all creatures.

Who is Jesus Christ? Is Jesus God? - The Blog ListingAfter baptism, Jesus went into the Judean desert to fast and meditate for 40 days and nights. The Temptation of Christ is chronicled in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke (known as the Synoptic Gospels). The Devil appeared and tempted Jesus three times, once to turn stone to bread, once to cast himself off a mountain where angels would save him, and once to offer him all the kingdoms of the world. All three times, Jesus rejected the Devil's temptation and sent him off.

9 Bible prophecies, Jehovah’s own words, and the sign He gave at Jesus’ baptism prove that Jesus is the Messiah. But where did Jesus come from, and what was he like? Let us see what the Bible says.

This subject becomes all the more important since, in its most common form, Christianity is proclaimed as a message about Jesus. What a person believes about Jesus, then, informs his understanding of the religion itself. We can see the result of this process in the thousands of Christian denominations in all parts of the world. While they all proclaim to be Christian, the individual sects emphasize different aspects of Jesus in their teaching. For instance:

There is very little written about Jesus's early life. The Gospel of Luke (2:41-52) recounts that a 12-year-old Jesus had accompanied his parents on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem and became separated. He was found several days later in a temple, discussing affairs with some of Jerusalem’s elders. Throughout the New Testament, there are trace references of Jesus working as a carpenter while a young adult. It is believed that he began his ministry at age 30 when he was baptized by John the Baptist, who upon seeing Jesus, declared him the Son of God.

Most theological historians, Christian and non-Christian alike, believe that Jesus really did walk the Earth. They draw that conclusion from textual evidence in the Bible, however, rather than from the odd assortment of relics parading as physical evidence in churches all over Europe.

Jesus was born circa 6 B.C. in Bethlehem. His mother, Mary, was a virgin who was betrothed to Joseph, a carpenter. Christians believe Jesus was born through Immaculate Conception. His lineage can be traced back to the house of David. According to the Gospel of Matthew (2:1), Jesus was born during the reign of Herod the Great, who upon hearing of his birth felt threatened and tried to kill Jesus by ordering all of Bethlehem’s male children under age two to be killed. But Joseph was warned by an angel and took Mary and the child to Egypt until Herod’s death, where upon he brought the family back and settled in the town of Nazareth, in Galilee.

Jesus was born towards the end of the reign of Herod the Great (died 4 BCE) and brought up in Nazareth, Galilee. He was named Jesus (Yeshu’a in Aramaic, Yehoshua or Joshua in Hebrew, Iesous in Greek, Iesus in Roman) and was conceived between the engagement and marriage of his parents whose names were Mary (Miriam in Hebrew and Mariam in Aramaic) and Joseph (Yossef in Hebrew, Yosep in Aramaic). In Matthew 13.55 it is said that his father was a carpenter, and Mark 6.3 says that this was also Jesus’ profession. It was a common practice during that time that sons would follow their father’s occupation, so it would be safe to believe that Jesus was a carpenter. Although not certain, it is probable that Jesus' education included a detailed study of the Hebrew Scriptures, a very common practice among the devout poor in Israel.

Perhaps the most famous religious relic in the world, the Shroud of Turin, is believed by many to be the burial cloth of Jesus. The 14-by-4-foot linen blanket, which bears the ghostly image of a man's body, has been worshipped by millions of pilgrims in a cathedral in Turin, Italy. But scientifically speaking, the Shroud of Turin is a fake.

Jesus returned to Galilee and made trips to neighboring villages. During this time, several people became his disciples. One of these was Mary Magdalene, who is first mentioned the Gospel of Luke (16:9) and later in all four gospels at the crucifixion. Though not mentioned in the context of the "12 disciples," she is considered to have been involved in Jesus's ministry from the beginning to his death and after. According to the gospels of Mark and John, Jesus appeared to Magdalene first after his resurrection.

His public ministry began after being baptized by John the Baptist. According to the gospel of Luke, this was when Jesus was about 30 years of age. According to Mark (11.27-33), Jesus saw John the Baptist as an authority and possibly a source of inspiration. It seems that he performed baptisms parallel to John the Baptist (John 3.22). After the arrest of John the Baptist (Mark 1.14), Jesus began a new kind of ministry, spreading the message of the kingdom of God approaching and stressing the importance of repentance by the people of Israel.

Jesus, the Prince of Peace Part 1

Matthew 11:28-30 ESV, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this. – Isaiah 9:6-7

But will this do as an explanation? There is overt and intentional grandeur in Isaiah’s use of the title for the messiah. This messiah, the Pope would no doubt agree, is none other than Jesus Christ. Christians boldly proclaim that Jesus is the incarnate son. He reconciles the world to Himself, and in this way he brings peace. He alone is worthy of the exalted titles ascribed to him in Isaiah 9:6. These titles should be reserved for the Lord of hosts who accomplishes these things, though he accomplishes them in part through the sons and daughters he has redeemed.

John 16:33 - These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

This is when life begins to be what God intended it to be. So this is where God brings us. We've been climbing with Paul, step by step, up a great mountain. And now we have come to the very summit: "For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father." We can go no higher. Life with the Father is the most delightful of all experiences, for all that we need is provided by a Father's heart, and a Father's love. This is the way God deals with us and our hostility. What separates us from each other is our insistence that they are wrong and we are right, that there is never any reason for an admission of guilt on our part. But as soon as we admit that we are wrong in the very areas where we think we are right, and that there is no way of justifying ourselves before God in any area of our lives, other than being forgiven, then the hostility ends, and God brings us into that glorious relationship of freedom and enjoyment of life with the Father.

The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

A few months ago I was in another city, and a young man came up to me and said, "I want to tell you about my marriage. I haven't been married very long. After we were married I discovered that my wife was not a virgin before we were married, though I was. I had a tremendous struggle with this. I forgave her; I understood the situation, understood that she needed to be forgiven. But emotionally I continued to wrestle. Then I began to see that my behavior had been no better than hers, before God. Though she violated the external precepts of sexual morality, I had violated them also, internally, in my thoughts and attitudes. And, before God, there was no difference. I began to see that I was just as much in need of forgiveness for my failures as she was. When I saw that, then there was healing."

And out came another horse, bright red. Its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people should slay one another, and he was given a great sword.

Once again, we are dealing here with a very profound psychological insight. The strength of any hostility is demand. This is what the apostle is saying. What creates hostility? Why, a self-righteous demand upon someone, a demand without any admission of guilt on the part of the one demanding, a one-sided justice, a holier-than-thou insistence. This is what creates hostility. The Jews despised the Gentiles because they considered themselves better than Gentiles. "We have the Law of Moses," they said. "The Law is right and true; it reflects the character of God. You Gentiles don't have the Law." And in their blindness and self-righteous hypocrisy, they thought they were keeping this Law because they didn't do some of the outward, external acts the Law prohibited. And so they hated and despised the Gentiles because they thought they were superior. The Gentiles, on the other hand, hated the Jews, because they knew they lived in self-righteous hypocrisy. So there was intense hostility between them. Jesus' solution is to take away the Law. Remove that from the picture -- help them to see that the Law judges both alike -- and you'll end the hostility. Put them on the same level -- so they both need grace, both need forgiveness -- and you remove hostility.

He is first, by translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace. He is without father or mother or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest forever.

PRINCIPLES OF SUCCESS - Part 1

Lamshem International - Inter-ministerial Support
(A message Aps Timothy Oluwajoba preached on 13/10/2019 at The Glory of God Temple  - The Wise Builders Church International, Nyanyano Road, Kasoa.)

It is good for anyone to desire to be successful in your life.  Success is not fixed but a process.

WHAT IS SUCCESS IN LIFE?
Some people spend their entire lives wondering how to be successful in life, but never figure it out.
The dictionary describes success as the following: “attaining wealth, prosperity and/or fame."

Your individual definition of what success is exactly may vary, but many might define it, as being fulfilled, happy, safe, healthy, and loved. It is the ability to reach your goals in life, whatever those goals may be.

We are surrounded by a materialistic culture and get to experience first-hand the kind of “happiness” it brings when we obtain a specific title or object. You may even feel it from time to time, like buying the new iPhone or basking in the scent of a fresh new car. It’s not necessarily bad to have these things, but many times, the reasons why we crave these things are a bit misconstrued.

The truth, however, is that success is ephemeral in all areas of life. The smell of the new car will fade. The new phone will be replaced — sooner, rather than later — by a more advanced, sleeker, lighter, and better one. Someone younger, stronger, or smarter will eventually come and beat your record.

WHAT IS THE REAL DEFINITION OF SUCCESS IN LIFE?
Why are so many people unhappy with their progress in life? Why do some really rich people commit suicide despite all their achievements in life?

Success centres on attainment of God's set goal for an individual. What is the plan of God for your life?
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." (AKJV+ Jer 29:11)
"Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (AKJV+ Jer 1:5)
THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF SUCCESS IN LIFE

1) HUMAN SUCCESS
What is Human success? It is based on human principles, traditions, norms or methods and cultures.

The cardinal evidence of human success is selfishness with no room for others and disregard for Christian values. It is characterized with lot of struggles, frustrations, resentment, and jealousy because you are always trying to catch up, which always result in fruitlessness. If you continued to chase after these false objects of happiness and success, what you would ultimately be doing is, running around in circles.

2) SATANIC SUCCESS
It is based on evil principles which is contrary to God's word. They pull people down in other to arise. They use diabolical means to attain success. The Bible says, "the thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy." John 10:10 The plan of Satan for every human being is declared in above verse. What ever Satan gives you, he exchanges with your destiny and your life purpose. It's like building your castle in a sandy ground. It will eventually fall.

3) COVENANT OR DIVINE SUCCESS
This is based on God's principles and his word. It is totally driven by God's perfect will. The core objective for covenant success is the Kingdom Business. Covenant Success is established until your assignment is finished on earth. Sometimes the covenant success is slow but it's the best.

There is no fetch or herbalist that's not connected to Satan. Every Covenant Success can be traced to God. But the success you can't show to the public is satanic.

4) HOW DO YOU LOCATE YOUR SUCCESS?
Success is not a native of anyone or country. Don't think that you have to travel to any country before you can be successful.
Locating your success begins by knowing and understanding your divine assignment on earth.
Every human being was created to solve a problem. Everything God created is a solution to a problem.
The fact that you are born is an evidence there is a problem you are wired to solve. Your success in life lays in identifying the problems you are created/wired to solve.
I will continue with this important topic next time. I will like you to ponder on this, its not your chieftaincy or whatever titles that makes you successful in life. It's not the number of houses, flitch of cars, houses or the higher position that makes you successful in life. Its identifying your purpose on earth. I want you to know and understand that you are a solution to a problem on this earth.

Just locate that problem GBAM! You are the most successful person in the eyes of God.

May you be fulfilled today in Jesus name!

THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP - SACRIFICIAL LIFE

"And the king said to Araunah, No; but I will surely buy it of you at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God of that which does cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver." (AKJV+ 2Sam 24:24)

When David was instructed to offer burnt offerings where the Lord had stopped the pestilence, Araunah offered as an outright gift a threshing floor, oxen, and wood for the fire. But David insisted on buying these things. He would not offer to the Lord something that cost him nothing.

We know that it costs nothing to become a Christian, but we should also know that a life of genuine discipleship costs plenty. “A religion that costs nothing is worth nothing.”

Too often the extent of our commitment is determined by considerations of convenience, cost, and comfort. Yes, we’ll go to the prayer meeting if we aren’t tired or if we don’t have a headache. Yes, we’ll teach the Bible Class as long as it doesn’t conflict with a weekend in the mountains.

It makes us nervous to pray in public, to give a testimony, to preach the Gospel—therefore, we remain silent. We have no desire to help at the rescue mission for fear of picking up lice or fleas. We shut out any thought of the mission field because of a horror of snakes or spiders.

Our giving is too often a tip instead of a sacrifice. We give what we will never miss—unlike the widow who gave all. Our hospitality is determined by the measure of expense, inconvenience and mess to our homes—unlike the soul winner who said that every rug in his house has been stained by drunks throwing up on them. Our availability to people in need ceases when we lie down on our water bed—unlike the elder who was willing to be roused at any time in order to be of spiritual or material assistance.

"But you have profaned it, in that you say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible. You said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and you have snuffed at it, said the LORD of hosts; and you brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus you brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? said the LORD. But cursed be the deceiver, which has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, said the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen." (AKJV+ Mal 1:12-14)

Very often when the call of Christ comes to us, we are prone to ask ourselves, “What’s in it for me?” or “Will it pay?” The question is rather, “Is this an offering that really costs?” It has been well said, “It is better in the spiritual life that things should cost than that they should pay.”

"A son honors his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is my honor? and if I be a master, where is my fear? said the LORD of hosts to you, O priests, that despise my name. And you say, Wherein have we despised your name?" (AKJV+ Mal 1:6)

When we think of what our redemption cost our Savior, it seems a poor return that we should hold back from cost and sacrifice for Him.

"Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)" (AKJV+ Phil 3:19)

CONCLUSION
My dearly beloved of God, it is time we review our spiritual activities before the LORD. With what mind am I give service to Him? The Bible says, ...out of the abundance of the heart comes the issues of life... Matt , Luk 6:45

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." (AV Gal 6:7-9)

Let us begin to take our relationship with God very serious. Cain fell short of divine acceptance of his sacrifice just because of the heart he gave the burnt offering to the LORD, while Abel gave his sacrificial burnt offering full of Thanksgiving, gratitude and appreciation.

When ever we bring an offering before the Lord, be it material, financial and ourselves. The state of our heart as at time time of offering is very important. May you receive more understanding in Jesus name.

God bless you as understand the value and privilege of being a true disciple indeed.
